I used to have a Farmers Insurance because I liked the idea of having a local insurance agent who could help me out. But when I got in an accident and had to make a claim it was after hours so I had to call the 1-800 number. They were very helpful and got my claim processed, but the entire process was handled by someone at corporate. Why was I paying more to have a local agent? After that I switched to Progressive because they had better rates and I have been perfectly happy.
